Robert W. Sims Memorial Award

Recognizes a FAEDS member deserving of special recognition for their efforts on behalf of the association. It is not given every year.

Robert W. Sims was an employee of the Florida DOE in the 60s. He was the first Secretary/Treasurer of FAEDS – his signature appears on the original charter. Sims, his wife and one daughter were murdered in their Tallahassee home in October 1966. The Robert W. Sims Award was established in 1969 to recognize a FAEDS member deserving of special recognition for efforts on behalf of FAEDS. It is not mandatory that this award be given each year.
